Here you will find answers to some of the more commonly asked questions. If you have problems connecting, have a firewall, router, or do not understand an error message you received, the FAQ should address these concerns.
Questions and Answers
I sent a registration to WA!P2P but have not been registered yet. Why is that?
Sometimes it takes a while to verify and process the registrations. Please give us at least 48 hours to process them. It may take upwards to a week to process them, depending on the circumstances. Please be patient. We assure you, we process them as quickly as possible.
When I try to login, I get “Authorization required to use Registered Nickname.” What does this mean?
This means that the server did not recognized your password. Try the following steps to clear up this problem:
- With WA!P2P open, with your keyboard, use the following command to bring up options: ALT + O.
- If not there already, find the “connect” category of the options menu that you brought up previously.
- You will see an “Edit” button next to the server labeled, “WA!P2P.” Click it.
- You will see several things now: a description, server IP, port number(s), a group, and finally a password field.
- Place your cursor in the password field and delete the password entirely from there.
- Click OK. Then click OK again on the Options menu.
- Connect to WA!P2P.
The Referee says, “You have the wrong nickname. Reconnect.” What is this and how can I fix it?
Your nickname on server does not match the nickname in your scripts, or the nickname in your scripts is not present. To fix this, in the chat space on WA!P2P, type the following command: /set %nick nickname. So my nickname being Juarin, I would type: /set %nick Juarin
After I install WA!P2P, I try to launch it, and the EXE is missing. Where is it and how can I fix this?
When this happens, in most cases, your anti-virus interferred with it. mIRC is seen as a virus by many anti-virus programs when renamed. You can set an exception for WA!P2P through your anti-virus. For detailed instructions on how to do so, visit the web site of the respective anti-virus software. Also, you can stop this from happening in the future by renaming your WAP2P.exe to mirc.exe.
My anti-virus says that WA!P2P is a trojan. Is it safe?
Yes. A lot of anti-virus programs recognized WA!P2P as a trojan because the EXE has been renamed. If you are concerned about it, just rename your WAP2P.exe to mirc.exe. This warning should go away.
What are the ports to open for With Authority! and WA!P2P?
The ports for With Authority! are 7666-7668. The port for WA!P2P is 6667. Most cases you won’t need to open any ports for WA!P2P, but that is the port in case there is a slim chance you need it.
How do I open the ports for With Authority!?
Go to the following web site: Portforward.com. Once you are there, find your router brand and model number on the router list. Once you click the link for that, you will see a “Default Guide” link near the top of the page. Click that link and follow the instructions for opening ports for your router.
Be sure that when you open the ports, that you use both TCP and UDP. If your router does not allow you to select both at one time, you will need to create two separate entities of the ports that you forward. Also, if there is a check box to “enable” the change you made, be sure you click that. If you need further help or more detailed instructions, find a staff member (preferably an Administrator) on the server, and they will be able to assist you.
When I load With Authority!, there are few or no managers. Where are they?
When you download With Authority!, the manager files should already be included. However, if they are not, you can type the following command in the WA!P2P chat space: /wac
Doing so will overwrite any managers currently in your With Authority! folder. So be mindful of that when using the command. Also, make sure that you have set your WA!.exe from the WA!P2P Options (or on initial launch) before using the /wac command.
I lost my Manager file I had on Live. Can I get that back?
Unfortunately, we do not have access to the Manager files from Live. Instead, we have provided you with several Guide sets.
If I still have my Manager file from Live, can I use it?
Sure. Just put the manager in the root directory of your With Authority! folder where the others are.
When I start a game it says, “Jim Ross: Error handling transaction.” What does this mean?
This means that you and your opponent used the same Manager file. Make sure to use the “Send .WAC Data” button when you start a match so this does not happen in the future.
When I start a game it says, “Jim Ross: Nickname’s playbook checksum (########) does not match yours. Game will not count.” What does this mean?
This can happen for several reasons, e.g., you are missing some pages in your Data folder. However, typically, this is because you do not have the updated page changes from 2004. To correct this, type the following command in the WA!P2P chat space: /pagechanges
Is there a tutorial or manual available to help me learn how to play?
Both of these are available. There is an in-game tutorial that will help you get started. Also, you will find a With Authority! Manual in your root directory of WA!P2P. You can launch this from WA!P2P itself if you have the newest version. The button can be found above the “Options” button. You might find strategy articles on the web site that give you some ideas as well.
The chat screen is missing when WA!P2P launches. Is there a way to fix this?
The typical cause for this, is that one or more of your scripts are not loaded. To fix this, type the following command in the WA!P2P chat space: /reloadall
When I download WA!P2P from the website it says that the path to the .MSI is missing. Why is this and how do I fix it?
This typically means that the installer file did not download fully. Check the file size of the MSI that you downloaded and compare that to the file size that the web site says it should be. If these are indeed different, try redownloading. If that does not work, contact support for a direct download link.
How do I connect to someone to play a game?
To play a game, you or your opponent must either CHALLENGE or ACCEPT. WA! will then proceed to load. After it loads, go to your account and wait on the main menu screen. After you are there, hold your SHIFT button on the keyboard and press Manager Info ONCE. The challenger should press first. After you and your opponent both do this, the game will begin.
I have followed all instructions for starting a game, but it still will not connect. I also have no firewall. How can I fix that?
You may have an outdated version of With Authority! Please check the “Quit” confirmation screen from With Authority!. In the top-left corner, it should say: version 1.8. If it does not, you have an outdated version. It is recommended that you download the With Authority!.zip from the WA!P2P web site to resolve this issue.
You may also need to enter your IP address into WA!P2P so that your opponent’s client recognizes it. To do this, go to IP Chicken to find your external IP address. Once you have found that, go back to WA!P2P. Press F11 and paste the IP address that IP Chicken gave you into the input box that comes up. Please note: you will have to do this every time you restart WA!P2P.
I have opened all ports, followed all instructions, and even entered my IP address into F11. It still will not work. Are there any other steps I can take to resolve this?
Yes. There is one more thing that most overlook, that you should do. That is: Go to “Options” from WA!P2P and select “No” for “Do You have a firewall?” This will usually resolve any other issues keeping you from being able to connect.
Can new pages, cards, superstars, etc. be added to the game in the future?
Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to update With Authority! in any way. With Authority is playable as is.
Do factions exist and how do I join them?
Currently there are three or four factions in existence. You may ask around and see if someone will let you join their faction. However, new factions are no longer allowed to be created at this time. Changes to factions will come in the future.
When I try to create a room it does not work. Why can I not create rooms?
WA!P2P is not as active as Live. For this reason, there really are no reasons to create rooms. Non-tournament games are playable from the Locker_Room, and tournament games will be played in their respective event room.
Someone I was in a match with caused a misreport and no one was online at the time to resolve it. How do I get this settled?
This happens sometimes. Please e-mail support with the following: match number, opponent, what the result should have been, and a match log. An administrator will look over the e-mail and take care of it. (Please note: if you caused the misreport, no rank points will be returned to you).
I see some users with a Top 10 icon. How do I get one?
These are given out once monthly after a World Title Tournament. If you are in the top 10 before the World Title Tournament on the day of the respective WTT, you will receive a top 10 icon following the event.
I won a title. Do I get a title .wac, and if so, how do I go about getting it?
There are title accounts availabe for the World Title, Intercontinental Title, Cruiserweight Title, European Title, Hardcore Title, and the Tsunami Cup. To get the title account, speak with a staff member and provide him or her with your e-mail address. They will be able to e-mail the ‘.wac’ to you.
