World Title Tournament is a Momentum Icon Tournament
Tournament Rules
World Title Tournament is a “Named Superstar” format tournament. You may only play one Superstar!
You may, however, change and edit your Playbooks throughout the tournament, but you may not change the Superstar.
The World Title Tournament is SINGLE-ELIMINATION, not swiss. When you draw, you and your opponent are eliminated, and both of you will not advance to the next round.
Each round is 35 minutes long. You have 10 minutes to start your games from the beginning of the round.
Only people who have prequalified either by paying 50 Tournament Points, winning a Title in a World Title Tournament Qualifying event (see WTT Qualifiers page) since the last World Tournament, winning and defending the 24/7 Title since the last World Title Tournament, or by qualifying (per LCQ rules of eligibility) in the LCQ on the Saturday prior to the event, are eligible to compete in the World Title Tournament.
You do not recieve any Tournament Points for wins or draws during the tournament. Instead, first, second, third, and fourth place finishers will receive Tournament Points at the end of the tournament. First place receives 100 Tournament Points (TP), Second place receives 75 TP, Third place receives 50 TP, and Fourth place receives 25 TP. In the event of a tie, the TP payouts will be divided evenly amongst those tied for a certain placement.
If the current Champion retains, he or she will receive 7 TP and an icon for the Pay-Per-View event he or she retained at (provided one is available). (The 7 TP does not apply if there is a new champ; he or she will receive the 100 TP for First place).
Also, First, Second, and Third place finishers will receive an icon for the respective Pay-Per-View event (provided one is available).
If the Champion shows up to defend, First and Second place will be determined by the final match, the winner gaining First place. If the Champion does not show up to defend after the allotted 10 minutes, the final match will be the title match and the winner and new World Champion will gain First place. In the event the Title match draws and the title is vacated, a tie-breaker match will need to take place in order to determine First and Second place. This is so that a tie-breaker match is only used when needed rather than every time.
If the finals of the World Title Tournament end in a draw, there will be a rematch. This rematch will have NO TURN LIMIT and the same Superstar MUST be used; however, you may use a different decks if you choose to do so.
The current Champion does not participate in the tournament! The winner of the Tournament will face the Champion for the Title.
Turn limits will be set to 50 turns.
All games are played RANKED and in the NORMAL arena!
Playbook Restrictions
You must have at least 55 pages in your playbook.
You may only have 5 copies of a page in your playbook (except for common momentum).
Title Match Rules
The winner of the World Title Tournament will face the current champion immediately following the tournament.
Once the tournament has reached the final match, the Champion has 10 minutes to appear and defend his/her Title against the winner or it will be vacated.
If the Champion does not show up to defend, the final match of the tournament will be for the World Title. The winner of that match will become the new Champion.
The Title Match is a ‘Named Superstar’ match, but the Contender and Champion can name other Superstars than those used in the tournament.
Turn limits will be set to 60 turns. Playbook Restrictions will be the same as in the tournament.
If the Title Match ends up in a draw, the Champ defaults the Title and the Championship is left vacant until the next tournament.
(If the Title is vacant, the top two people at the end of the next tournament would play for the Championship).
