Your anti-virus software will most likely flag WAP2P as a virus! mIRC is a filesharing software that could result in you getting files sent to you or requested from you. These features are turned off by default. There are various security features on WAP2P's servers and Referee bot to ensure these don't happen. You will be immediately klined (banned) from the server if you use the client in ways it was not designed for.
There is a script in WAP2P that will download .jpg (Faction update) files which your AV will not like.
I don't use my laptop nearly as much as I used to. I do know the basic Windows Security/Antivirus software does NOT like mIRC. It will allow you to play, but you will need to allow network access to be able to connect to games on WA!.
I highly recommend not renaming the mirc.exe file. Most AV will allow mIRC as long as it is named mirc.exe without problems. I highly encourage you to whitelist mirc.exe in your AV software.
